A Decade later, I'll never forget when this country's biggest natural disaster became the biggest

Man-Made tragedy/travesty. EveryBODY watched for days as NO's Original People died, seek refuge, and tried to make sense of the lack of aid from Bush's Government

I was in the Air Force stationed in st louis when this happened.

2 days after the hurricane hit my leadership tells me pack your shyt were leaving for New Orleans tomorrow ! Had me like

Brehs we landed in the airport and from the moment we got there we hit the ground running! It was total mayhem out in that airport. The first day we were there we worked 16 hours straight. We were staying at one of the terminals sleeping on cots showering in these military showers they provided. The work was intense they had us doing everything we could moving disabled and older folks around,Providing patient care , helping people get off the choppers serving food and water

What an experience brehs... We all cried, laughed and overall interacted with New Orleans the 2 weeks we were there.

New Orleans took most of the damage from Katrina. But Rita came threw like 2 weeks later and crushed the buildings for the rest of the state. We were outta power for like a week and a half. Ate barbeque everyday
