Man there were riots and shyt after Johnson beat Jeffries. Wasn't exactly safe. Like I said earlier, if there's boxers to see with a little less danger, there's Ali, :flabbynsick: before he became :flabbynsick: (I didn't realize he won his first 48 matches :wow:), and iron Mike.

I meant that as "no nikkas". Not disagreeing with him.

That's the reason why I would have liked to see him in person.Reading his Wikipedia has me in awe of all the bullshyt he had to go through. Would have been surreal to see him going through that shyt, making people mad and STILL kicking ass.

Yeah I figured. His career was one of the last things we covered this semester. A guy who retired unbeaten (JJ) who returned to challenge him was quoted as saying he couldn't have beaten Johnson at his best. That he was simply to difficult to hit. Guy must have been amazing to watch.

i mean i was 8 when he won in 98 so i dont remember that shyt, but i wish i watched him in his prime :wow:
Yeah I remember vaguely the Phoenix series and the last 3-peat. I was young though. Didn't appreciate it or see his athletic peak, but at least we can say we saw him play.

I still have the old VHS cassettes... They're rotting in a box in my basement.
I know I should just dump them:wow:
