there are 2 types of stans. the shameless stans and undercover stans
the shameless stan is blatant and obvious with his stannery. he's biased, irrational and ridiculous but he's so committed to this persona that in a way you have to respect it even if you don't take it seriously
the undercover stan is much more subtle. he will pose as an objective poster and try to mix in "logic" and "reason" with his stannery. he's just as biased and irrational as the shameless stan but he's better at blending in with the crowd of normal posters. instead of blatantly calling someone who hates on his favorite rapper a "phaggot," like a shameless stan, he'll use sarcasm, clever .gifs and smiley faces to mock that poster and his argument. he'll also throw in a lot of strawman arguments and vague language that doesn't actually address the issue even if it appears to. he models his arguments after a lying politician or lawyer. he'll also NEVER admit to being angry or emotional when defending his favorite rapper and will do his best to come across as

these are the stans that do the dirty work as far as converting other posters to stan their favorite rapper. they're also much tougher to spot. undercover stans will NEVER admit to being a stan for that would defeat their entire purpose. some undercover stans have become so good at their undercover stannery that they can spend their entire posting careers undercover stanning without you even knowing it. all the while, slowly but surely converting other posters to their favorite rappers. they might even throw in some subliminal messages in their posts
