Believe me, I've been to arenas all across the country. Kobe brings the people out like no other breh. Bron and them can't even pack their own arena for the damn NBA finals. I went to game 6 last year where people were early and there were empty seats in my section.

I guess Kobe and the Lakers aren't really tryna win a title in near future. There is no way you can build a championship caliber roster around a 35, 36, 37 year old post Achilles Kobe with what $35 mil ( and that's only if Nash retires). In that past you had Shaq already on the roster or Pau, Odom, Bynum already on the roster and Kobe was young but now you have to go out and fill the roster with championship level talent with damn near half the cap going to old, post Achilles Kobe.

a players job is not to worry about "not crippling a franchise" - general managers get paid millions of dollars to do that
