Very sanitized way of saying gentrification. I always be sayin it, DC gon end up lookin like Old Town Alexandria if they have their way.
white people got tired of the commute. I knew it was over when I saw white people working for the city government that would´ve never happened under Barry.

Should I still bother moving to the DMV? I’m tryna move there this summer
Why not? You might be the only nikka living in Anacostia.

Actually I seen some white people living in those new houses in Sheridan Terrace.

Sheridan Terrace was a desolate area it was like abandoned houses Barry Farms was right across Martin Luther King BLVD and I would´ve lived in Barry Farms projects over Sheridan Terrace back then.

A nikka low key threatened me on MLK I assumed he had it on him a year ago shyt I´m glad some of old DC was left.

if you ain't a gov worker or contractor, the main thing keeping you in DC/Northern Virginia is stockholm syndrome
word I got a zillion speeding tickets turns out the speed limit is 25 miles an hour and speed traps all over the hood.

lol man these 2 answers talk about polarizng

if it was up to me I would have moved outside the country, i'm a govt worker so that's the only reason I'm considering it. Outside of Houston and some parts of FL I am not a fan of the south so I have no idea where I'm about to move to at this point because I'm absolutely tired of MA
Living near Headquarters in good for your career.

YUCK!!!!!!

I couldn´t even get pass the Commanders stadium but I know he´s right when the East Side club was there @Rollie Forbes how old are you because the Eastside should be in the Go Go museum itself no one thought hood ass South west would ever go cac and it fukking did.

I got a two homeboys with houses near the stadium who told me to buy and I said Houses near the Car Barn with no parking? fukk out of here Them nikkas is about to get PAID jokes on me, I know a nikka who got a house in River Terrace for 20K for a fixer upper I wish I had bought.

No lies told. Grew up in River Terrace and the housing have exponentially increased with cacs moving in.

Currently in Deanwood & we see the change happening over here. Grocery stores, new homes (not apartments) and when that stadium hit (:banderas:), it's gonna be crazy. We can walk to it.

We are lucky to have bought in 2014.

As a born/raised Washingtonian, it sucks to see my city turn full blown cac-anese & lose culture but, as a homeowner/ business owner, it's been for the best.:wow:

If Deanwood ever goes Cac... That is literally one of the Blackest parts of DC I remember there was some old white racist that got handled on the X2 Bus and I said once you get past H street but really down Benning Road it´s 100% Black ( actually wikipedia says in 97% Black there´s zero reason for a white person to be down there unless they are a cop or an insurance adjuster.

You can snag a decent amount of House in the City in Deanwood frankly it´s kind of the final frontier of decent amount of house in the city for cheap.

Again, it depends on what you’re looking for. I love the Black community here. I like aspects of the arts scene. I like that there’s a shytload of free things you can do especially in the summer. It’s definitely a vibe but it depends on what your relation is to it.
I do music and night life on the side so def that’s what I’m after.

Yeah if your into music and a Fed I´d defenitely come.

Anything halfway funky could be slightly Go Go feid and you could be playing brunch dates for the siddity ex Anacostia residents who moved to Bowie.

Anacostia is coming up too but since I´m from the urea I have a hard time dropping 500K on a split level in Congress Heights knowing how hood that area used to be.

Shyt, even that's changing. Two houses built maybe 2 years ago sold for $700k. There are currently 2 houses being built a block over and they have $900k ticket prices. An apt building across the street is projected to be converted to condos.:wow:

In a perfect world, I want us to buy these.

What??? I was gonna try to buy a 6 unit tenement building for 152K over 20 years ago but I was too young There is some low key big houses in Burrville ( there was a big time drug dealer that owned houses out there). But we´re talking Deanwood though. I think they closed Spingarn High school because people kinda refused to send their kids there.

Again very hard for me to pay top dollar for the hood.
