13 Yr Old Charged with Sexually Assaulting 78 Yr Old Woman on Her Porch

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A 13-year-old boy is facing charges after he was caught on camera groping a Louisville woman on her front porch.


WLKY spoke with the woman whom the boy groped, 78-year-old Jan Fletcher, on Aug. 26.

Fletcher said the boy asked her for directions to a nearby park before pretending to dust something off her back and groping her.

"As soon as that happened, I said, let me tell you something, you better get out here and you better go now. So he did. He was gone," Fletcher said.

Fletcher says she has a question for the teen.

"Why he did this? What was the reason that he did it? And I want an apology for him doing it," Fletcher said.

Louisville Metro Police Department said they arrested the boy on Friday, charging him with third-degree sexual abuse.

"I really hate that these young people are out here doing stuff. I hate it, it's sad, but. What reason do they get? What enjoyment do they get out of doing stuff? I don't understand it," Fletcher said.

Police said the boy does not live in the neighborhood where the incident happened.

"We hope this arrest relieves some of the fear and embarrassment the innocent woman suffered," LMPD said in a statement.
