I agree, it aint easy. The whole west of Africa and most of Africa would be open to an exceptional african american athelete repping the flag, but it just doesnt happen.

Ill give you a white example that happens often:

Diego Costa was born in Brazil and grew up in Brazil. He moved to Spain to play and the Brazilian team didnt give him a real shot. He decided to declare for the Spain national team, he plays for the flag of Spain now. Switching alliances is something Brazilians do all the time, the Central African national team turned out a few brazilian born footballers for their country squad.

A recent american example is Naomi Osaka, her father black and mom japanese, she wasnt getting any love like that repping American and she jumped ship to rep japan instead even though she AA. She could have turned out for Haiti or any African country, but she would rather rep japan because of the opportunities. People choose opportunities over pride and country it seems, breh

Why dont american blacks represent african sides?

They do, the thing is that they only apply to those whose parents was born and had citizenship in those African countries. AAs and Carribean, and Afro-Latinos wouldn't apply since they're many generations removed and don't know where they specially come from.

Plus there are over 54 countries. Diasporans are rooted from many countries on the continent.
