don't know about in the US, but here in canada, to claim an adult dependant on your taxes, they have to be disabled and their income can't be above a certain level. also, if they do audit you, the onus of proving he's your dependent is on you, not the other way around.
Well here in America the requirements are..... Did you provide for most of their living expenses. I.e. Were they dependent on you?

So if a nikka has no job (on the books). But he living in my house, eating my food, using my electric. Yea I can claim him

And all I gotta do is show them my bills and say he live here. And he agree. Of course he's not on the mail. He ain't paying no fukking bills. And his income gonna be low. Cause he doesn't have a job

But there's no income limit here. You can claim your damn wife as a dependent as long as you prove you provided more than half. She'll get lower on her taxes tho cause she can't claim herself now.

But that's America for you. There's a reason companies make billions and pay zero taxes. And rich couples hire million dollar a year accountants. Cause there's so many fukking loopholes and shyt

Another is a home office. You got a office in the house? Say it's only used for work. You can write off a percentage of your electric bill and rent. And everything you buy office related can be written off as work expenses

The parking garage trick doesn't work if they have metallic weight sensors in front of the gate(which most garages do).

Their is a way around this but you need the cooperation of a willing participant. While your trying to leave, have a another car pull up and pull a ticket lifting the gate. The gate will never close so car 2 just has to back up so you can roll out.

Just make up a story that the gate won't lift on your side.

I'd rather just pay the $12 than deal with all that. :smh:

Another life hack with taxes

Dependents don't have to be kids. My boy was hustling for 3-4 years straight. No job. So I claim him as my dependent and split the extra dough with him

All that matters is you were responsible for 51% or more of their living expenses for the year. If I was to be audited, I'd have said he lived with me or if I'm really facing time. Go all in and say we together and I provide for him. But it never came to that. IRS don't give a fukk about your measly 3k return
Ay wats the best way to go about this with my 21yr old unemployed brother that lives with me? And where do you go to file?

When you do your taxes, say you have 1 independent then use his social. They don't ask anymore questions. Just a date of birth. You basically paying all his living expenses since you paying the bills. He is dependent on you. Just make sure he filed the same way. And make sure your parents don't claim him either

My 23 year old brother lives with me too. But he's in college. But shyt I'm paying for everything in the house and he don't have a job. I'm gonna see about claiming his ass next year

Sorry but breh was right. There is an income limit. 4K

So as long as your friend/relative is unemployed or made less than that. And also lives with you. It's perfectly legal

What Are the Qualifying Relative Requirements?
An individual must meet all 4 of these requirements in order to be considered your Qualifying Relative.

  1. Not a Qualifying Child: The individual cannot be your Qualifying Child and cannot be someone else's Qualifying Child. They are a Qualifying Child if they meet all the requirements, whether or not they are claimed as a dependent.
  2. Relationship: The person must either have lived with you for the entire year as a member of the household (a person who is not actually related to you may meet the requirements in this way), or be related to you in one of the following ways: your child, stepchild, grandchild or other descendant of one of your children (or stepchildren or foster children), son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, half brother, half sister, stepbrother, stepsister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, parent, stepfather, stepmother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, and, if related by blood, aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew. Remember that a child whom you legally adopted is always considered to be your child. Also note that, for the purposes of this requirement, divorce or death does not change any relationship which was established by marriage (e.g. son-in-law, daughter-in-law, etc.)
  3. Gross Income: The person must have made less than $4,000 in gross income during 2015.
  4. Support: You must have provided more than half of the individual's total support during the year.

there is an income level that he has to come in below though for anyone else considering this. the person would be a qualifying relative and you can look up the requirements online for that. it has to be qualifying relative, not child, though your child can be a relative for tax purposes.

edit: didn't have to post this lol
