Sylvia Robinson, the Godmother of Rap and Hip-Hop music, 2nd female record label owner in 1974 (Ms. Zell Sanders was 1st in 1956), and executive of the legendary pioneering label; Sugarhill Records. Ms. Robinson released in 1979, the first successful rap single called "Rapper's Delight," from the group "The Sugarhill Gang." The featured vocalists of this legendary-chart topping tune are: Wonder Mike, Big Bank Hank and Master G... This hit has sold over 10million copies to date!

Ms. Sylvia Robinson passed-on September 29, 2011, at age 75, in Englewood, New Jersey, USA...

This is a retrospective, dedication, and commemoration of her life and career.

Violent crime was higher in 1973 than it is today.

For all the talk about Chicago being a warzone and all that, there was 415 homicides in 2013. You know how many there were in 1974? 970!

I could care less if the nikka shooting me in the head did it with more class and style.

Also, black high school and college graduation rates are way higher today.

There was always ratchet people. They just weren't on TV back then and the internet didn't exist. Making an over-arching sociological conclusion about black people based on a fukking Soul Train clip is ridiculous.
