Israel is a friend of Nigeria.

I was not aware but thanks I will check him out. Not on anyone's payroll just calling it how i see it but I believe people are oversimplifying and severely underestimating how difficult it is to effectively govern Nigeria especially without a military background or a "godfather". I think he should have definitely made a speech or a huge gesture about the massacre. He without doubt needs improvement in areas such as bringing corrupt politicians, bankers, and civil servants to justice and gaining more effective control of the military.

The United States was until Congress forced Reagan's hand in the late 1980's. Funny how geopolitics works often. Nigeria was a staunch opponent of Apartheid and may have provided arms to groups fighting South Africans in Namibia, Angola and other places.

Nigeria has more personnel, larger army, airforce, and navy.

SA MAY be better equipped and trained and has a larger defense budget.

And let's not act like Nigeria's economy isn't growing. One of the fastest in SSA.

I'm more interested in this story than the Paris story but when it comes to this to most people expect this to happen and it's old news, basically synonymous with the name Africa to then while an attack on a famous city in a first world country based on cartoons will attract people more especially with how much Islamic extremism of this brand has been in the news lately.

Larger does not equal better. It has the largest population, it better be big.

And I have absolutely no clue what Nigeria's growth as an economy has anything to do with military might.

A person like Kagame in Rwanda has a strong ass military that can keep his country in check, secure his borders and even assassinate his rivals. I do not like Kagame and think he should be forced out soon but he is not weak like Jonathan.
