I’ll never forget going to the Royal Rumble in 98.

That pop when Austin came out. Everybody was watching the entrance and he came from the crowd under our section. Terry Funk doing the Chainsaw Charlie shyt and they were pumping fake chainsaw sound’s through the speakers

Then Kane set Takers casket on fire and you could smell the gasoline in the arena.

Got to see a young Rock, peak Austin, OG Kane, pre DX NAO and Shawn Michaels the night he injured his back.

According to Wikipedia the largest RR was 60k in '97 at the Alamodome. No other number was given.

That's one of them fake numbers, that Rumble had very cheap tickers and was still heavily comped. The real number is said to be around 47k paid.

I was just going off what was posted. If there was an "actual attendance" I'm sure it would be listed because it was for a lot of the others.

Well regardless of real or fake numbers, this is clearly looking like the biggest to date since it's even surpassing the highest "marketed" number for a RR.

It's looking to have more people than a lot of WrestleManias. Which makes sense to me... 'Royal Rumble' could have always been stadium show status. There's people in my circle that care way more about the Rumble than even WM

I was skeptical about Indy hosting some of the big events like RR, WM and SS but it looks like my skepticism has been diminished.

Now the rumor is that WWE is looking into expanding the RR to 2 nights. It would help to get more matches on the event.
