fukk outta here with that "Black Designers" shyt. They were straight jacking Nike's shoes, taking off the check and replacing it with goofball lightning bolts , selling it for crazy prices and didn't cut Nike in on anything. I'm surprised they didn't get sued sooner. They don't have the bread to fight it so they need to just go ahead and "design" some other shyt. They thought they were the next BAPE but didn't study trademark law (Nike mistakenly let the patent expire and Bape caught it, which is why all AF1s are now AF1 07)

"I started off like Nike" is hilarious and highly delusional. :russ:
Props I didn't know that is how BAPE got away with it

The dunks came out after the AJ1 debuted, not at the same time. This was clearly meant as a way to capitalize on the popularity of that shoe without having to spend any addtional money on design or development costs, and cash in on the popularity of the aj1's. they literally just removed the jumpman logo and said new shoe.
If changing the logo is enough to be an entirely new creation, then why are they suing these two designers? they have a clearly different logo. So therefore it has nothing to do with nike dunks same way nike dunks have nothing to do with AJ1's right? Thats basically what yall are saying by arguing my point.
B/c Nike owns the silhouette you doof. You can't just change the logo on some shyt you don't own and try to sell it as your own creation and then turn around and play dumb like "What I do...I'm a black designer why yall suing me...I started off just like yall..."

Not sure why that's not sinking in for you.

No he wouldn't have.....the AJ1 and Dunk debuted the same year by the same designer and dunks were meant for the college market. They didnt make Dunks as some scheme to screw MJ out of money
Exactly. The Dunk (combo of The Legend, Terminator, AJ1) was made for the the NCAA tournament and the Be True To Your School campaign in 85. When the tournament was over people forgot about them and they went to bargain bins where skaters found them for cheap, popularized them. and then launched the Nike SB Dunk. It was never used as a campaign to jack the AJ1 or bootleg the AJ1. The AJ1 sold way more than was projected it's first year Jordan wasn't going anywhere or threatening to go anywhere.

It’s funny cause you post this meanwhile people are 100% certain that Adidas won’t move those Yeezy’s that aren’t Yeezy’s anymore. Anyway I pass sone blame down to Mysonne cause he was telling people F Nike and was bigging up these guys to tell us to buy their stuff. So I’m supposed to kick Nike to the curb to buy fake ridiculous looking Nikes?
Anybody that thought that must’ve thought Kanye was the one designing those shoes.

The patent for most these corporate logos and designs is 20 years. That’s why you see so many clothing companies get away with flipping old sports logos and shyt. That’s why Bape got away with copying the AF1. Kool Kiy, OMI and Warren Lottas fukked up by copying exact Nike SB and Jordan 1 designs and colorways that were less than 20 years old. :snoop:
