Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker have decided to forgo their final quarter of Miami-Dade Community college and join Lebron , Wade , Noel and company in their playoff push .. the heat have waived Juwan howard and Mike Miller

I mean, I understand what you're saying breh....and I actually like your idea for the NFL.
BUT, a rookie is not making 20 mill per year. You never said anything about eliminating the rookie scale.
With that in mind, dont you think teams would "prepare" for the end of the college season and clear salary cap space like they do for Free Agency?
The Lakers have a 2014 plan for FA and they will acquire somebody's franchise player in the summer of 2014. All the contracts end at the time including Kobe's.
You think if a player the caliber of an Andrew Wiggins is coming out of college in the summer 2014, like he is, that the Lakers wouldn't just acquire him (on the rookie contract), and STILL sign their major FA....or 2 in the event they dont resign Dwight this year?
The League would have all the "once in a generation" type rookies playing on the best teams while teams like Utah wouldn't stand a chance in recruiting against such cities.

you would obviously install rules to prevent salary dumping. Players contracts would be guaranteed and "dead" money would count against the cap next year. Teams wouldn't be able to salary dump for certain rookie classes. Plus you got regular free agents as well. A team might make out one year and be set for the next 7 or 8. You can only be so top heavy on a squad. it's not like in college because at the end of the day players want to get paid as much as possible. As far as the rookie wage scale, keep it. A star player won't go to a stacked team and even if he does, somebody will eventually have to move on Like a Harden because eventually teams won't be able to afford to pay everyone. If you want to keep it fair, have 2 or 3 year rookie contracts with a team option.

Honestly, the best thing about your NBA rule change is the amount of fukkery we would witness in the upcoming future
Other then that, I dont see how anyone but Miami, NY, and LA wouldn't always snatch the cream of the crop rookies every year.
To your point about James Harden, he wouldnt have even been in Oklahoma ANYWAYS if NBA teams could recruit.....nor would Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook
Your rule change effectively ruins the small market team who have it hard enough to KEEP their veteran star players. With your rule change, they cant even ACQUIRE star college players either![]()

It would force small market teams to step their game up. It's not just about cities. Who's to stay Blake Griffin wouldn't have stayed home and signed with OKC. Durrant would've went to Washington. Most NBA players aren't dumb enough to ONLY want to play in major markets. Just imagine Lebron being able to recruit better talent to Cleveland. Again, the teams that would miss out are missing out now anyway and unlike College where there is turnover every year, some NBA teams will be set. If a team signs a Kobe, they won't be looking to replace him in 4 years. Once a team has their core group they could sign role players.

name the last hall of famer or all-star in their primes to switch teams from a big market to small market in FA![]()
1. NFL teams should redo the salary cap that will allow the salaries of their top 3 best players salaries not to count against the cap. At the very minimum their franchise players salary should not count against the cap. It could be for the life of the deal or for that one season. If you gonna have a hard cap tha barely moves you should at least give teams more flexibility. Either that or players salaries in general are gonna have to shrink like the rookies salaries did.
2. NBA should do away with the draft and force teams to recruit talent just like colleges do. I don't think it would lead to a concentration in talent but it will allow players to pair up into situations where the team they choose can thrive. I think it would lead to better teams overall and force weak franchises to fold if they can't recruit well.
Would you rather start on the Bobcats/Cavs living in Charlotte or Cleveland.......or come off the bench for the Lakers/Heat living in Los Angeles/South Beach?
