In all seriousness I have a question for the brehs who are affiliated and or familiar with gang culture. In prison and on the streets gangs speak of rules that they adhere to. Do the O.G.s not tell the youngsters that events like this are off limits for drama due to what the events mean to the community? Do they not realize this a real bad look?
This is very presumptuous. But from someone who has dealings in activism, deals in mentorship and has had time in community prevention programs, most of these violent situations have very little to do with any gang culture. Most these kids don't even really gang bang anymore not in the sense of the territorial, if I see an op anywhere attack sense as it was in the 80s and 90s.
Most of these situations are personal issues that began in some love triangle, somebody cheated somebody is dating somebody baby momma, somebody sister or brother got into a fight etc then in spreads to other family members getting involved, and then typically it comes to its climax at some kick back, gathering in school etc. Sometimes the "gang" ties are just there only because the people at odds are from different neighborhoods.
There are some cases where maybe a robbery took place and the guys catch up to the person who robbed them or someone they know. But most cases I have run into for the past 20 years or do have been things like I posted above.
Let's also take into account, most those kids out there were peaceful and just enjoying a gathering. 1 or 2 fools who decided to be a dam fool is not indicative of an entire community being violent. No different than when a a white kid shoots up a school that does not mean that school is a violent institution. The Jim crow tones in some of these responses are problematic.
