Was a great summer. Was before I went to 8th grade..music (got exposed to napster), video games, wrestling, internet, tons of internet browsing. Probably the most memorable of my life and helped shape me.

Summer 2001 was fun. Lot of video games, lot of going to the neighborhood pool that was right behind our house, and just straight chilling. We had a guy who was finishing a basement room and bathroom. He was so so slow. My dad was buying him lunch or dinner all the time and my mom was even letting that nikka eat her cooking while he was barely getting the job done.

7th grade started like 10 days before 9/11/01. I remember being motivated to hit the ground running with my classes and not be behind the 8-ball like I was in 6th grade. I had a bad first quarter in 6th grade, then got my stuff together and then right after New Year's Day 2001, I got pneumonia and basically was sick that whole January :snoop: So that summer 2001 was a nice bounce back from the winter..

That was the best summer of my life. I graduated HS that June, and was anticipating College like crazy the whole summer. For my senior year of HS, I was driving the family van to HS every day (my parents had gotten the new Ford Windstar the previous year, and gave me the older van to drive). That summer, my Dad bought me a brand new car for College, so I was hyped. I went to Raleigh, NC and Disney World that summer on road trips, so we were bumping the radio heavy on those car rides, along with the mixtapes and CD's we took with us in those trips. I remember bumping Jadakiss' new album heavy, and I remember bumping Usher's album during that road trip to Disney World. Funny thing is that the Jada album I brought on the road trip was actually a bootleg that my cousin bought, so I was pissed at him for not getting the actual album for us on the trip :heh: That was my second time going to Disney World (went at age 9), so I enjoyed it a lot more the second time.

The day we came back from Disney World was the day that the news broke about Aaliyah. That was the second time I was shocked at a big time music star's death. I was 15 when B.I.G. died a few year earlier, and that was the most shocking death to me. Anyways, that summer was special to me, and I always look back at it as the most fun time of my life. The morning of 9/11, I was in my U.S. History class, and it was let out around 9AM. Since my second class that day didn't start until 2PM, I was going to go to Tower Records to cop the Blueprint album. I wanted to cop Fab's album, but I didn't have enough money for both. Once I heard the attacks on the radio, I just went straight home to watch. I ended up buying Jay's album months later.
