for all the talk about Kobe not making his teammates better, its seems just about everyone has career years playing next to him while dudes have the worst years of their careers next to LeBron.
watch Bosh go back to being a 24/11 player next season and Wade be a 25/5/5 guy again. while Love/Kyrie get called frauds that Bron has to drag.
A sports analyst was actually brave enough to write an article about this without being suspended. Bron is a stat protector. He has a number in his mind that he has to get every game. If he is low on assists (his goal is at least 7 per game) he demands the ball and manafactures an assist at the expense of someone else. So instead of a fastbreak layup for Wade or Chalmers it becomes a spread the court play for Bron where he kicks it to the corner for an open three. If the shot goes in it is an assist for Bron but if it clanks it is "Bron needs help." Same thing with his point total when he is low on points he will tend to lay in the backcourt and wait for the fastbreak at the expense of guys like Chalmers, Cole and Wade. Players that play with Bron end up sacrifing their own stats to play with him. He makes no one better.

And? Kobe's efficiency was just fine. A hair below Jordan's. The only reason is loooks much lower is cause he took alot more 3s than Jordan (3.9 per game vs. 1.7). When you break down the efficiency numbers, you'll see its alot closer than the raw fg% shows.
2 FG%: Kobe = 48.3% Jordan = 51.0%
3 FG%: Kobe = 33.5% Jordan = 32.7% (the years jordan shot 40% from 3 is when the line was closer, when it got pushed back his % fell back)
FT%: Kobe = 83.8% Jordan = 83.5%
TS%: Kobe = 55.5% Jordan = 56.9%
TS% combines two point field goals percentage, three point field goal percentage, and free throw percentage for a more accurate description of a player's scoring efficiency. You might put alot of stock into a 1.4% difference, but just consider that Magic Johnson's TS% was 61.0%. If Jordan was so much more efficient than Kobe because he shot 1.4% better, then Magic must be a God compared to Jordan considering the 4.1% difference.

Kevin Love has been trying to play with the Lakers. Peter Vecsey just wrote a column saying that Love wants LA but he is scared of Jim Buss. Only reason Love would go to Cleveland is because he hates Minnesota.
