BUT...

Can we please stop having Kendrick shoved down our throats?? In the 30 mins I watched, I think he had more screen time than the folks performing at the time.....seemed like everytime they showed the crowd, they led off with him.

Dude is so uninspiring and I am tired of hearing how he's saving hiphop...it makes me dislike him more than I actually do because I'm tired of hearing/seeing him hyped all over the place...

Truth, that whole fukking awards show was straight trash from the get go. Only a few highlights, the cyphers, Juvi and mani, MC Lyte getting props, and Bone Thugs. A article said Kendrick won 5 awards and I'm like when the fukk they give this nikka awards? Goes to show you how sloppy this shot is. Even Snoop Dogg, the og was uninteresting. I'm ashamed of this culture man, bring back the early 2000s please... And those fukking head phones......

Think about this, 2Pac said himself that he did not want to live old and broke. He knew that being a rapper in his 30's and beyond was irresponsible to the youth. After a king dies, another steps in to take its place. We had, 2Pac, Ice Cube, Rakim, NaS, Biggie, Rae, Snoop and others who all were kings at one point. Someone else came in and took the throne. Now it's the same person over and over who claims king. Kings are suppose to lose crowns. If you are claiming king or the best rapper alive for more than five years then something is not right.

yea. up until the early '00s, there was a steady flow of people going on & off the throne, and in & out of the top tier. tons of new stars every year as well.

i noticed that things were taking a turn for the worst in the early '00s, when the dudes on top were abusing their political power and pulling other petty stunts to keep their positions. also, as much as i love rap labels, rappers being signed to rappers who want to keep their spot is a bad idea in the long-run.

it basically went downhill with jay-z. and jay is still around putting out horrible music and theyre forcing us to act like its great. if rap was still semi-pure in that aspect, jay would've been off the throne a decade ago and all this stuff hes been doing the past 7 years would basically be irrelelvant. then 50 and others came thru with detrimental f*ckery as well.

The scene changed. Why you see Wayne at 31 still talking about eating p*ssy and c00ning and Jay still the king of NY at 44 dropping struggle bars on his latest effort. Outside of Kendrick and Cole, there is no one that can claim king nowadays.
