Yeah, there's a reason, but Mariota isn't it. Manziel decomitted in mid-Sept. of 2010 as soon as he got an offer from TX A&M. Mariota didn't commit to Oregon until over a month later, Oct. 30, 2010. I keep seeing this story that Manziel was scared to compete with Mariota once he found out he'd signed on. Whatever else Manziel is, being scared to compete isn't one of them.
