I think the lakers were 2 or 3 years from contending if they kept their cap space

Pay a reserve 20 mil on a non playoff team, brehs

Pay deng comparable money to what you could have spent on harrison barnes if durant goes to the warriors, brehs.

Why would we want harrison barnes?? We trying to build up our young core not feature a player trying to prove himself. Harrison barnes would hurt the development of our younger players in the long run.

And yes deng should come off the bench. We want the core playing together as much as possible. We ain't competing for no playoff spot anyway and if we do it should be a great surprise because we were led by a young core. And yes u can pay a bench player 18 mil when your starting lineup is on rookie deals. Gotta hit the salary floor

No real complement pieces coming to an unproven team. They got 4 years to prove themselves and then the free agents will come. Yall want the youth movement but don't wanna be patient.

We got rotational vets overpaid a bit but i said Evan turner because it just shows how the market is right now. Unless were getting kd we were going to be about 3 or 4 years away from making noise anyway. Bout time our young core is ready to really make noise these contracts will be expiring. The lakers aren't trying to win a ring right now, everybody on this board know that wasn't going to happen, even if we signed kd. The lakers are trying to develop this young core and the roster is built for that. Cant keep tanking when your core is in place

I see luke going GS route. Got the young core of Randle/ingram/russell. Now filling out the iggy (deng) and Bogut (mozgov). Did we overpay yea but we need to at this point because we are a 17 win team. Plus bench looking good with clarkson/nance/lou/black
