I mean she’s kinda right. Congress has the ability to penalize the executive or change law if the Supreme Court says the president overstepped. It doesn’t automatically mean the executive should be penalized.

The judicial branch should fairly call balls and strikes.

That flies in the face of historical convention and precedence. Congress will not impeach him, the Supreme Court gave him immunity from any legal action and now reduced the ability for federal judges to stop his EOs. He's effectively a King.

Republicans are good.

They sell it on 20hrs a week on able bodied (vague term) but don’t get into the details of how someone gets to work for a 20hr job.

A car, gas, and insurance would basically eat through over half your money. Your essentially just working to pay to come to work so some corporations make profit.

And if you give someone with a disability a job so they can get healthcare over someone else that’s DEI.
This is what’s gonna crack people head. It’s a lot of people with a disability currently who bout to get the shock of their life. When they say naw you ain’t disabled no more. We no longer recognize your bad knee as a disability. Get yo ass out that trailer you going to work.

Dems need to come up with some way to effectively parry this talking point. because every time i've seen a republican bring this up on CNN, the democrats/anchor just ends up hemming and hawing

They can’t. It’s the same reason the welfare queen thing stuck on black people even though most people on welfare are white people.

It’s easier to believe it’s rampant among some vague “other” based on antidotal evidence than believe it’s a few people who will always try to steal/commit fraud

which is ironic since they voted for a man and his family who committed fraud multiple times even after getting caught cause it has nothing to do with laws or punishment to get them to stop.

That screen shot captures the essence of the hall monitor :mjlol:
we gon take another L if y'all don't hop on beshear. we need to go back to the fundamentals. southern white guy. He has brought more investment to Kentucky than any governor in the history of the state and has the highest approval rating of any democratic governor and he's in a DEEEEEEEP red state. Yall want Jewish wish.com Obama Shapiro? A jew in this political climate? Wes Moore can be Beshear's VP

Don’t get me wrong I’ll vote for the hall monitor if God wills it. But he’s not my first choice, though I am at peace with the fact that liberal white america may be eager to overcorrect running two women and a minority recently

That's kind of my thinking as to why we need to return to the basic CAC archetype. People actually really like the 'hall monitor' demeanor he has. He was such a calming presence during COVID, I'd be far more skeptical if he didn't have the business chops that he has shown, but he has brought an INSANE amount of investment into Kentucky that I'm really not sure anyone else could've pulled off. He's also not a p*ssy even though he is a law and order by the book type of guy and was obviously born into a wealthy and politically established family. I just feel like it always comes down to these swing voters and I think he has the type of track record and political acumen to grab them. I really think swing voters are tired of the Corporate dem let me shove a woman or person of color down your throat just for the sake of diversity. I think the VP spot is where we can bring that diversity in, and then in the future we can have a little more leeway and room to breathe. Winning is the most important thing right now, or we're going to continue down the road of capitalist authoritarianism like China--except the Chinese actually have competent rulers.

Biden got the elder statesmen bump after the chaos of Trump so I definitely could see Beshear bridging that and being more non-scary liberal and has the visuals of the all-American white family that defangs the Republicans smear machine.

Yup, a Dem who has won in a red state is our best bet. Whoever is nominated has to be able to effectively counterattack. Dems who are used to governing in places where there’s little to no opposition are less likely to have that instinct and they almost always have had to take relatively unpopular positions on issues like immigration.
