Not surprised.
People keep complaining about parity but the only decade the NBA had any real parity, no one remembers. The 70's might as well not exist to most NBA fans.
On a side note, Dr. J and Kareem would've been much bigger stars if their primes had been in the 80's.

but it ain't good for the league
It's fine for a singular year but It wont be good for the league long term if the Warriors don't get pushed, and looking at the makeup of the league we could be seeing this 2-3 more times where they just steamroll their conference then don't get pushed in the finals.
If they win this finals, then go on to win another 70+ games next year it makes the entire playoffs moot, and the team is young enough that this could be the theme for the next 3 years.

they are watching HOPING to get some competitive basketball. they wanted to believe this is an even match up, but it just isnt. this is clearly the most stacked team in the history of the league

I loved the late 60s early 70s. Shame how the NBA tries to act like it began in 81-82.
That time period was OK. Good Knicks, Lakers, Celtics teams. But mid to late 70s are pretty much a blank period to the league.

This doesn't buck the trend. The ratings for the playoffs were terrible. The regular season was god awful. Every major network is re-evaluating how much their deals are worth with the network. You don't feel the impact of a sentiment such as "the league is going to shyt" in just one season. If the NBA doesn't get severely more interesting as a whole next season, and GSW runs it back with the squad, that's when ratings would begin to bottom out. I know the NBA will have some counter to the bullshyt we're seeing right now, they have the best front office at "making the calls" that any sport has ever seen. Hell, they've made a league with two teams even somewhat worth discussing obviously
