One of the people with knowledge of the conversation said Sanders did not say a woman couldn’t win but rather that Trump would use nefarious tactics against the Democratic nominee.

He didn’t say all, he said many Black and White. I would add it is not just women and it is not just the south. I know people that few the same way here in the north. They just won’t say it publicly. But it is more in the south, partly because the south is more religious and traditional. But, I believe the right female candidate can overcome this barrier.

If Bernie hadn't tapped danced around race issues, undermined social movements, and insisted that social justice focused movements are why candidates lost to Trump we might be less inclined to believe it.

Now that frustration is being taken out yet again on the old white progressive guy. How dare he be the vanguard of the progressives. He should step aside and let a woman lead.
