Despite how much criticism Bernie’s campaign has gotten from the left for not going on offense, I think he’s handled things well so far. He was playing the long game (or at least a longer game than many of his fervent supporters wanted.The runner up in the 2016 race is a "flavor of the week"?
After things started to coalesce around him and Biden as the 2 frontrunners he started gradually increase his attacks on Biden’s record, culminating in hammering Biden on his record on social security before IA and NH and it’s working.
What he needs to do next heading into the southern states after IA and NH assuming he wins both is get at Biden on his record on crime and incarceration hard. Can’t do much about them old church folks but a targeted campaign about Biden being the architect of the prison industrial complex in the Senate and being to the right of Reagan on crime should definitely help to peel off some more younger black voters.
He should roll out something about trade going into the rust belt primaries. Thing about Biden is his whole Senate record is such

Except literally none of them were the leading candidate. Amy and Kamala have never been close to the top of the polling. Warren was number 2 at her peak. When I say leading candidate, I’m talking in terms of press and favorable polling. Biden remained the lead candidate in the majority of all polls through everyone else’s moment of shine.

None of their polling was close to Bernie's right now. Bernie has overtaken Biden in multiple reputable polls. Nobody else has done that.
Bernie has overtaken Biden in 1 CNN poll as it relates to the national lead. All the other reputable polls still have Biden leading nationally.
btw, the latest economist poll has Biden up 10 on Bernie. That is the most recent polling.
