I agree with what he is saying. You should always vote, it is your civic duty. Even if you vote 3rd party.
But you have to also understand where non-voters are coming from. Politicians, the political apparatus, the political media is not doing right by the people they are supposed to represent, serve and inform. If you want more participation champion legislation people want, administrate the actual elections as fairly and transparent as possible and report on the landscape as fairly as possible. Otherwise, people are going to feel like they are participating in bullshyt and who wants to do that? No one.

See acting like nothing is wrong and demonizing people who want something radically different is counterproductive to your goal. If you want more participation try some more understanding or self reflection. Otherwise, things will go in the opposite direction you would like.
