Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
a guy just left my job saying that he's looking to vote for Bloomberg.

I told him he's only saying that cause of all the commercials. :childplease:

He acknowledged that may be true.:yeshrug:

I told him I was for Bernie.:jawalrus:

He thought Bernie was too old.:patrice:

I told him ultimately I'm for anyone but Trump. :manny:

He said "damn right":myman:

Lmao. Even fukking Trump could go on stage and call Bloomberg out on his racist policies and end him. As soon as he comes out from behind the curtain he’s through.
True. But my mom just told me today that she's worried Trump will win and that she's voting for whoever the Democrat is.
I mean yeah, my parents are essentially same too. They are going to vote for the Democratic nominee.

However, they want the "right" candidate to win. For them, they feel like only "a moderate" and "another old rich White guy" can beat Trump.

They feel as though America (i.e. White America) is not ready for a female President (Warren/Klobuchar), not ready for a gay President (Buttigieg) and they also don't want to vote for Buttigieg because he's gay, and they think that Bernie is "too old and too far to the left" to beat Trump.

It's really unprecedented what's happening here and Super Tuesday isn't here yet. Bloomberg is literally buying endorsements and bankrolling cable news.

"b-b-but his ad team is fire. he got under drumpf's skin"

I’m wondering where the bootlickers who were so concerned about Bernie’s tax returns are now

Their student debt cancellation plan is a great example of this too. Bernie's is more expansive because he designed it to be universal. Liz's means-tested hers to maximize the reduction of the black-white wealth gap. Very interesting debate and insight into how the two view progressive politics. Bernie has a "rising tide lifts all ships" mentality whereas Liz believes unique harms need specific solutions.

Means testing typically slows down access to benefits, leads some who quality to not participate due to either stigma or bureaucratic hurdles, and can make the policy unnecessarily complicated to verbalize, campaign on, or pass.

Saying something is better purely because it is means tested is just technocratic-ly not the case.

The road to hell is paved with means-testing
