yea, that's a change they'll never give us. a primary season with candidates visiting states in any order they see fit, and collectively voting all on the same day
If they did it all by popular vote on a single day then left-leaning candidates would always win. And I’d be here for it. The combination of the West Coast, East Coast and Midwest would pretty put an end to everything else.

The election cycle should be cut down to 6 months not almost 2 years. The election cycle should be from May to November (Election Day) of the election year.

Campaigning and debates for each party's nomination should take place from May 1st until July 1st. Each party holds their convention in mid-late July . General election campaigning and debating should then take place from August 1st until Election Day.

That would be much better :ehh:.

nah, a two month campaign trail would be brutal to hit all 50 states meaningfully, i'm open to a jan-april campaign season, may vote to provide a buffer in case there's some tie or some issue to resolve before the DNCC in july...but i agree about people running 2 years out, that's absurd

Haven't watched CNN in a long time. Got it on the background and turn off the audio because these commentators are fukking awful. All day news channels are so bad these days.

The homie John King is the only reason I pick CNN for election coverage over other networks.

They don't need to travel to all 50 states. Also, each party can change which starts come first and in which order. The Democratic Party should move up some of the bigger states to be earlier.

Candidates should travel to a certain regions not states per se. That's very doable in 2-3 months.

It would be best for democracy if only individuals could contribute to campaigns directly or indirectly, up to a certain $ limit. No rich people having outsized influence by spending tens of millions of personal funds on ads. No corporations contributing unlimited cash via Super PACs. They gotta raise that ad money from the people. Let the best ideas win, not the deepest pockets.

But America is completely controlled by corporations and the rich, so that'll probably never happen.
Lol you see nothing wrong with any of this? Somethings wrong with you dawg
i mean i hear that, but look at the primary. bloomberg has zero chance of winning :yeshrug: what the fukk am i supposed to be offended about? funding his own campaign that he's gonna lose? :dead:

this fake outrage about "look at mike bloomberg, jeff bezos might do it next" is :mjlol:

im all for passing anti-lobbying laws, but this "controversy" about bloomberg rings false

we should draft forward thinking laws, yes. why wait until a billionaire buys the election to pass legislation? we can (and should) be proactive when we recognize vulnerabilities in the system
