Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
according to who? and is this in every city?

@OfTheCross yes, there are other bills - especially if you're not a renter. and to be honest, at that income you're trying to invest & save for other items/life events. but again, the ask is for someone like me who spends $750/yr on health to pay $7000, you can make it seem insignificant re: income, but anyone who has a cost in their life that increases 10-13 fold and they're not actively doing anything to cause that, that's a no sell. but yea, if that's the tradeoff for student loan forgiveness, i'm in, but i don't honestly believe he's going to do that - i sure hope so tho!

You're right to ask questions. That's a big change for you.

And if we're debating the merits of his plans, we have to assume that he forgives the loans too. I'm glad that will make it more palatable to you.

But, if it's like @No1 said, and you (or someone in that tax bracket) pay about $1200 a month in student loans, does that mean that you'd be on board with M4A regardless if the ask was $5800 instead of $7000?

Student loan forgiveness is the one thing ai can guarantee he will do because he doesn’t need Congress to do it. The only reason for a bill is to make up for the lost revenue.

i'm not on board with it for more than costs. the few government services i have had to use - DMV, unemployment - were a headache and can become admin nightmares, in addition to being slow, and having bad service, i don't know if i trust the government to run a responsive high quality healthcare system. then comes women's reproductive rights and family planning issues, i'm lucky to have an insurance plan that pays toward things like that, i feel those areas will lag with a govt plan. i also don't trust how this plays out as parties come into and out of power. do republicans slash budgets and gut coverage any time they're in then dems swing it back another way? just like public schools or public banks aren't the only option for those important institutions, i don't think public health should be the only option.

i'm no policy expert so i don't know how costs work with a mixed system, but i'd much rather have politicians campaigning transparently on and trying to solve how to create a real public option.

i know he doesn't need congress, but he needs the courage to. a lot of people are not supportive of loan forgiveness and i can see that being a concession or tradeoff made to get people on board with something "more important"

how is that a sound argument to those you're asking for more from? i think a good chunk of black people who are doing well would heed that point as we know that collectively our people fall behind and there is some general racial solidarity, but white people don't feel that solidarity in regards to lifting up the bottom (now white supremacy, then yea) and asians are generally doing well across the board, so how do you see that as a influential argument in a society that values "bootstraps!"
Because we clearly see how much [more] of our money goes to infrastructure they enjoy too. We see how much of our money goes to helping their profits.

Its not even saying we should shake them down or villify them, but with the profit generation of say, Amazon, if the 1% pays their fair share we can afford medicare for all. Especially if we reallocate the money from military expenditures
