So if we’re not using polls, your feelings that him identifying as a democratic socialist will hurt him is based on what?

I didn’t say we’re not using polls. Dude posted a general election poll from February like that’s supposed to mean something. Socialism has not been popular in the US. Bernie will have to explain why he chose to praise socialist/communist governments and give himself that label.

He has been praising aspects of those governments & wants to apply them to the US, he doesn't have to explain that position, he's been doing that proudly for decades. He, once again, has identified as a democratic socialist, & not just a socialist.

how won’t it? When Amy and Pete are forced to leave, Biden as well, their voters are gonna go to him. What seemed preposterous is certainly starting to be real.
I guess Progressives will need all the votes the can get consolidated under one candidate to beat him.

:ld:

Given that minority voters dont buy into Liz as a former POC, the progressive thing to do would be to drop out and throw her support behind bernie. Whom minority voters arent angry at for lying about her ethnicity for benefits.

The media will [continue to] freeze out her and Steyer and neither have the base or strength to fight back. She doesnt share voters with bloomberg and only damages the progressive movement while running.

The wost thing for progressives is a brokered convention. Why is Liz steering us toward just that?

I honestly think she believes she can win. I don’t think the hope and stuff coming from her camp is like...just phony and stuff. I admire them tbh.

That’s a fair point. A lot can change between now and Election Day.

However your claim that him being a socialist will hurt him with independents isn’t really based on anything.

Everyone already knows he’s a socialist and he consistently polls favorably against Trump, against his Dem competitors and with independents. Are these independents and moderates all of a sudden going to have a revelation that he’s a socialist sometime between now and then?

My biggest concern is people not wanting to take a chance on Bernie if the economy remains strong in terms of GDP growth, unemployment, and the stock market. If it remains as is, Trump will be very hard to beat in 2020. If those numbers dip, Bernie is an easier sell.

Let’s all remember that people lie in polls vs what they do in the voting booth.

Many people won’t want to say I won’t vote for such and such but they won’t.

We all just simply accept that Bootyjudge wouldn’t get votes cause he’s gay but in the Dem party gay rights in general are extremely popular. Even among Libertarians and and some Conservatives.

But we all know when push comes to shove people will be more receptive to a straight candidate even if they don’t hate or despise the gay one.

Stock market will be a huge factor

I think bernie needs to run negative ads on bloomberg in some of these super tuesday states. Attacking him at rallies and on twitter does nothing. He needs to flood the airwaves and counter-message bloomberg to the casuals
