bernie earned it and deserves to make a couple million from a book :hula: bloomberg didn't do anything worth the couple billion he made from starting an industry transforming business

I honestly feel like once you get above a certain amount you should give back. I mean what can you buy with $60 billion that you can’t buy with $5 billion? At that point it’s just overkill. You made it. But I’m not gonna scream on them because they made it fair and square. And them giving back their money is out of their kindness. We’re not entitled to it. You would just hope they felt honor bound enough to do it. But like Bloomberg said, you write the tax code. If you want to enforce better redistribution of wealth, increase taxes. And create policies to better help society with that income. Don’t write the rules to be one way then get mad when people succeed within those parameters you set. Change the rules.

Can we just cut the crap about the infeasibility of M4A with regards to it becoming law in Congress, as if Republicans would suddenly come on board if Pete or Amy or Joe became president, as if it wasn't Lieberman who fukking nuked the public opinion, as if Obamacare, a vastly milder plan than M4A, wasn't barely pushed over the line at the expense of Obama's political capital, and didn't flip Congress over to the Rs who then spent the next 6 years trying to impeach it? Did Merrick Garland not happen? :mjtf:

The reality is this: no matter who wins the Democratic nomination, they'll be subject to smears of their plans being socialist, pacifist, anti-Semitic, pro-illegal immigrant, and so on. If they win, they'll face the same obstruction in Congress that Obama did. And if they are trailing behind Bernie, what magic will inspire a greater turnout to hold on to swing seats? Doug Jones is going home the same way Claire McCaskill and Heidi Heitcamp went home, regardless of how much they tried to have it both ways.
All of this is exactly why Warren's plan to enact M4A is superior to Bernie's. Warren is the only one being serious about all the hurdles you just mentioned.

Elizabeth Warren: When it comes to debate performances spanning the last two weeks, Warren’s have been the strongest. She built a case for being a general-election candidate against Trump last week by taking the bark off Mike Bloomberg. And she followed it up with a studied and detailed performance on Tuesday. She picked up where she left off on Bloomberg by pointing to his past support for Republicans including South Carolina Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R) and also for the senator she beat in 2012, former senator Scott Brown (R-Mass.). She also again argued that Bloomberg hadn’t sufficiently addressed treatment of women at his company and went after him for doing business in China.
She was perhaps less forceful with Sanders, instead saying she would be a better president and going after his staff. “I dug in. I did the work. And then Bernie’s team trashed me for it,” she said. “We need a president who is going to dig in, do the hard work, and actually get it done.” You wonder if she really did much to help herself — especially given last week’s debate didn’t seem to do much for her — but she will at least remain on voters’ radars after the last couple weeks
