A lot of people on the "left" consume Right wing propaganda and then espouse those views. So called lefties hate the Dem establishment more racist conservatives.

Maybe. But Lil Wayne was saying that Obama should be impeachment and that Allen West had a sane reason for doing so.

Well that and the fact when you go on twitter it promotes the most liked tweets of the same story. That article was probably tweeted but someone with a better reputation or sourced somewhere better, but scrolling all the way down is too hard I guess.

I found this part interesting. At around 1:10 Sam asked Lopez why he left out Bernie when he named pols that are doing a good job of merging race and class. He goes on to mention some criticisms I have spoke about when it comes to Bernie and Black issues. After he gets off the phone Michael comes and gives a weak defense of Bernie. I wish Michael Brooks would of asked the same question while Lopez was on the phone. It would of made for a better, and wider discussion on the issue.

shyt was weak as fukk. "Well the polling for reparations isn't that high" The fukk does that have to do with the broader point of the almost whataboutism Bernie get's into when it comes to specific minority groups.

I haven’t seen the whataboutism as much this time around.

He can't do that as much this cycle. I hate this fukking phrase but the overton window on black issues has moved. You can't just say well if we do what I want with the economy black folks will probably benefit(even though I'm doing this mostly for middle/lower class whites).

Also,
Gay marriage didn’t poll high in the 80s, 90s and 00s, but Bernie supported it. Eliminating private insurance doesn’t poll high, but yet he supports it(I support it to). Keeping private insurance and creating a public option polls much higher, but Medicare For All is the better policy so I support it even if it don’t poll as high. But when it comes to a Black issues that is when they want to talk about polling. Also Lopez point wasn’t only about reparations, it was on how Bernie talks about race as a whole.

It's one of the big knocks on Bernie for me. He reduces race essentially to economic conditions almost completely ignoring the insidious and quite frankly inherit evil, of bigots and racist . "Those middle class/poor racist whites are actually really good people, if we just make life better for them surely they won't be racist" fukk out of here.(He obviously never said that quote but that's the feeling I get from Bernie)

Yup,
Lopez made this point earlier in the interview. In general White people were doing very well economically in the 60s, and there was still racial resentment.

White people generally have a very poor understanding of racial justice, white progressives aren't exempt. They're uncomfortable talking about racial issues unless they can center their experiences by foregrounding class. White supremacy is a hell of a drug. :yeshrug:
