Politicizing a funeral is bullshyt.
I'm sure there are others who care about black people who didn't turn the tv on or didn't attend the funeral either. Questioning whether or not he cares about black people because he didn't attend is a bad standard to set.
Mitch McConnell was there, should he earn points with me for attending?

by all accounts he was a great man and they spent a pretty significant portion of their live working together towards the same goals....
it's not just that Bernie chose to skip the funeral but a pattern of actions that when coupled together show a lack of interest and tact when it comes to the black community
Why wasn't Bernie at the funeral? Oh, he was just out courting a bunch of white supremacists that put Trump in power and allowed the courts to be stacked.

I’m about policy more than anything else. I don’t think this will significantly hurt him. With that said he should of went to the funeral. With Bernie seems like people either love him or hate him. I think i’m one of the few people that’s not on one of the extremes with him. I like a lot of his policy proposals, and appreciate him pushing the party left. However, I agree with your statement talking about his lack of interest and tact when it comes to Black issues. He doesn’t have political instincts when it comes to Black politics/policies. Probably because he represents a state that has almost no Black people in it.
