Who is your choice for Speaker? Please don't name some backbencher or upstart who obviously wouldn't garner enough moderate support to challenge her.

Pelosi may just be posturing for the "well, how do we pay for it?" wine moms in the suburbs who delivered the House to us. I remember being annoyed with PayGo earlier this year; however, it was largely ignored when they really wanted to pass something. I think she'll earnestly try to pass the next Dem POTUS's agenda.

As Nap said, y'all don't always need to take her, or any other politician, at face value...
That goes without saying not to take Pols at face value. You have a lot more confidence in her than I do.

But to answer your question there isn’t one obvious choice. I know some progressives were pushing Barbara Lee and i’m Good with that. Her only downside is that she is also in her 70s. We will need to elect more progressive to get the type leadership I would want to see.

:snoop: Bernie man...damn this ain't it...this a terrible look

Can we at least see your damn funding plan first before you talk cash shyt :martin:

All he's released is a series of various options...a menu ain't a meal :francis:
His supporters are going to love this because they are being shortsighted. IMO this is a bad look to have the only two candidates supporting M4A arguing, while the rest of the candidates are going to be united in their healthcare message. This is why the left might not ever get power in this country. We could of had single payer in the late 70s early 80s if Carter and Ted Kennedy wasn’t sabotaging each other for political gain.

Man the way everyone is attacking Warren, as much as I like her and think she would actually be a good president...the cynical side of me is questioning whether we shouldn’t just fall in line behind Biden :francis:
She's never faced a difficult election. She isn't going to be able to handle the deluge of negativity. She will look weak.

Neither Carter nor Kennedy wanted single payer in the late 70’s. Kennedy was pushing for an individual mandate and Carter didn’t even want that. Kennedy proposed single payer around 1970 but had been off that by the Carter presidency.

I don’t see what’s wrong with a debate on the best way to implement single payer.

I also don’t understand Warren supporters touting her brilliance at policy, then when valid criticisms of her magnum opus legislative plan are presented, saying shut up and stop complaining about details...especially when her whole campaign messaging is centered around her touting her technocratic genius.

Yeah all she's done is beat a popular Republican incumbent in a very high-profile and dirty race as a first-time candidate. Whereas Bernie is battle-tested and cut his teeth in the mean streets of [checks notes] Vermont.

She couldn’t even handle Buttigieg and Klobuchar. :snoop:

I like her and I think she could be a great president on domestic policy...shyt, the GOAT president. I just think she will get electorally washed by Trump and no one has been able to convince me otherwise, as much as I want to believe that isn’t the case.

On another note, I am legitimately interested in knowing if people actually think “I have a plan” is a good campaign slogan or not because to me it is absolute shyt and barely a notch above “I’m with her” and needs to be bushed after the primary if she wins.

Does anyone think that elitist-sounding shyt will actually resonate with working class people around the country, many of whom who feel they have seen their livelihood and dignity stripped by other Ivy league-educated elitist technocrats who had a plan?
