They fear that advocating a government-run health care system could alienate suburban and upper-income voters who are otherwise eager to eject Mr. Trump from office, while the most progressive immigration policies might turn off the working-class white voters who backed Mr. Trump after twice supporting former President Barack Obama.

Yet for many Democrats, especially those who are younger and not white, the risk in 2020 is not about being seen as overly liberal. Rather, it is nominating a Democrat who is perceived as insufficiently ambitious by voters who were uninspired by Hillary Clinton in 2016 and supported third-party candidates or sat out the election.

There's no candidate they can choose that isn't going to put off some group of people.

Easiest path to defeating Trump is winning WI, MI, and PA as the Dems did in 2018 via Governor races and US Senate seats.

The FUNNY thing is though... the GOP used the immigration boogeyman in those states + Virginia and it did not work.

The type of voter who looks at a choice between universal healthcare and Trump and chooses the latter is so morally bankrupt and antithetical to progressive ideals that progressives and them cannot possibly coexist in a unified political coalition.

If Democrats continue to cater to Meghan McCain and Brett Stephens and David Brooks, progressives will have no choice but to abandon this sinking ship. The centre cannot hold, word to Yeats.

The politics we see on TV is about as real as pro-wrestling. Writers brainstormed catchphrases. Strategists decided which ones to try on live TV. This one got over, they gambled on printing the t-shirts early, but this gamble paid off. No reason to waste time. The shirts with the catchphrases that didn't get used or didn't make the audience pop will be shipped to third world countries like the shirts of the losers of the Super Bowl.

This is why I support Sanders over Warren. There is every indication that he really is who he says he is. That he really will do what he says he'll do. With Warren, there's too many questions about her conservative past, her friendliness to corporations, and who she'll defer to behind the scenes.

Biden will continue to lose support, but now that he's mad at her, he'll drag Kamala down with him. This leaves Bernie in the lead. Warren won't catch up. "President Bernie Sanders." I don't know why that phrase bothers some of you so much, but you're going to have to get used to it.
