ACA had good things but it didn't control costs and it made insurance companies richer/bigger... nothing done on drug prices and gouging either... and of course no public option
The ACA would of been good with the mandatory Medicaid expansion, but the Supreme Court shot that down. Also if it had a public option it would of been in a much better position. At this point we need something much more aggressive than the ACA. I don’t think we will be able to fully pass M4A at once. The votes in the senate is just not there. However we need to start at the strongest position so we can get the best deal possible.

One thing Warren and Bernie haven't said and its in the financing plan of the bill is that we are already spending nearly $2 trillion per year on healthcare via government spending on multiple programs.

If the sticker price of Medicare For All is $3 trillion per year, then what's needed is a $1 trillion plus per year in new tax revenue to finance it. We're already 55-60% there. Consolidation of existing programs would occur.
I imagine they don't run that up because it plays right into conservative talking points of overspending.

They point to record low unemployment and the longest period of expansion in modern history.

:yeshrug:
In the last election they said the numbers were fake. So when did this expansion start?

At what point do we not value their ability to put words together? When do we ask them to say things that are true?

This is irrelevant.

The point here is it allows them to muddy the water when attempting to pass this type of legislation. It's better to build support first and saying Americans need health care and Americans are struggling to pay for Healthcare and put food on their table and a roof over there head is just better messenging.

The alternative is both Dems and republicans arguing that we spend too much on Healthcare.

CNN panel full of millionaires with cadillac plans are basically begging Warren to abandon M4A. The media in this country... :wow:

This woman REFUSES to let the word "tax" escape her lips :russ:

This is why I think it's funny when people claim Liz isn't really for M4A or is some wolf in sheep's clothing on this issue. She's waging a one-woman war to defend it from Republican framing, and it's arguably the biggest trouble spot in her campaign. It would be so much easier for her to just come out with some "Medicare for All Who Want It"-esque plan like Pete did and avoid this whole argument, but she actually believes in M4A and is willing to go to the mat for it.
