Grim is great.

4 minutes in and Brooks is lying his ass off. He literally says "She's voted for every single military increase under Trump." which is just a patently false claim. In reality, she's only voted yea on the first of three, and it was the only defense vote she voted differently from Sanders on during the entire Trump administration. For someone who is an alleged foreign policy expert, a misstatement this egregious kills his credibility. He's so eager to exaggerate the differences between Warren and Sanders that he's out here just making shyt up. :francis:

I mean its crazy because Bernie himself has TERRIBLE votes...and Warren has been in Congress basically since 2013! Which is NOTHING for a Senator! She JUST got re-elected!.

@King Kreole Its been a day and I'm not seeing this AOC endorsement working bruh :patrice:

If Warren nails this healthcare debate, she's IN. :wow:
As you say, it's been one day. They haven't even done the rally yet. Give it some time. I truly don't know what impact the endorsements will have, but I think Bernie needed this shot of energy.

I'm very intrigued to see what Warren's next move on healthcare is. I'm not even sure what nailing the issue would look like anymore. She cannot de-commit from M4A, but I believe there is space to play within the M4A principles.

Kyle uses the same talking points about the 3 Trump budgets. Not to defend Warren because that was one vote too many. I stated this in another thread, but my main problem with Brooks, and some of the other progressive YouTubers is that they mix legit concerns about Warren with hacky bullshyt smears. I also wish he would of let Ryan talk more.

She seemed to give the groundwork yesterday.

It's going to be a part of her comprehensive package to overhaul America.

Healthcare + childcare + student debt forgiveness.

I don’t think she can play with the principles. Kamala tried that and it backfired heavily. She just need to say that premiums and deductibles are private taxes that are going to get eliminated. Therefore the majority of people will get a tax cut with M4A.

Nah, I meant play within the principles. She can't de-commit from them, but there is space underneath the M4A banner, particularly around funding (deficit spending + higher taxes on wealthy = no immediate middle class tax hike). There is more than 1 way to do single-payer, universal coverage with a significantly reduced role for private insurance.

But to be honest, this whole healthcare debate is becoming ridiculous. A public option will probably be the best offer the table for any Democratic president, so just say you support whatever version of M4A that is most politically savvy to get you through the primary. The details aren't important because the plan will be dropped at the negotiating door.

Don't forget the main goal. We all will be Biden supporters at some point. I appreciate the progressives fighting for what they believe in, I hope they keep that same vigor during the general election

Ok,
I misunderstood what you meant by principles. I agree. It is multiple different models we can use to get to single payer. I also think a public option is probably the most realistic improvement we can get through, and that’s not even a guarantee. However I think it is important that we start from a strong M4A position with no wavering so we can get the best deal we possibly can. If we start from a public option position, they are going to water it down even more. I think both Liz and Bernie can do a better job explaining M4A. Bernie is better at explaining it than Liz, but he let bullshyt talking points from the media and other corporate Dems go unchecked sometimes.
