Racists voted for Obama in 2008, so homophobes could vote for a gay man, especially that type of gay man, in 2019.

In this hypothetical, he'd be running against a damaged Trump and he doesn't even need to win everywhere. PA and MI aren't going for Trump and AZ, NC, and WI don't look bad right now either. I don't see being gay as a problem in most swing states. If he was facing somebody like Pierre Delecto (:smh:), he'd probably lose but he's won't be.

Anyway, I doubt him winning IA would help him with black voters. We aren't on the fence with him, he's disliked because he's terrible on race. What it does is help Biden go into SC with a wide-open primary. That's the danger here. Warren's path to the nomination is going to need to be like John Kerry's; she needs to win IA to set up NH and SC.

Alright, my fiancee is trying to talk me away from this stance. Basically, this logic only works if Biden's entire campaign wasn't based on "being the only one who can beat Trump" and the ill-defined concept of "electability." Since those are his sole basis for running, taking loses in IA and NH doesn't help his argument, especially with his poor fundraising. The idea he could wait for SC doesn't work because his popularity with black voters isn't going to remain stable if he's treading water.

Meh, it makes sense but I'm still skeptical...

The Supreme Court is in the gops bag:what:
This is why I suspect that the GOPs short term plan was Trump, and the long term plan is to stop the Dems from doing the exact same thing he did, which is ignore all warnings and advice and do whatever they want in the name of setting the country back on the right path.

If no one on the right stands up to Trump doing whatever he wants to do, then when the Dems are in power, they too will use that as a pretext to do whatever they want, which will mostly involve trying to undo whatever Trump has done or put measures in place (ie. stacking the Supreme Court with younger liberal or moderate judges) to invalidate shyt he did or will do.

And the GOP will be there right along in order to obstruct and prevent any and everything the Dems try to do
