Seems like Pete, Amy, (and maybe Yang) are making the calculation that they're not going to outflank Bernie and Warren in the progressive space...So now they're going to go more centrist/conservative and make a direct play for Biden's base.

Sounds weird but I mean it's the only thing that I see making sense with how they're moving suddenly. Maybe some of the more political strategist type folk in here know.

Pete supported Medicare for all as recently as April of this year. He was trying to play as the guy between the left and the centrists. He couldn’t gain traction so now he’s moving further center and attacking the left as his donors have told him to do.
