The idea that Bernie would just lose seats simply because others lost seats in the past is just an excuse to write off a true backlash against his ideology.

Using the threat of losing House/Senate seats in the midterms to criticize Bernie's ideology, when that is what typically happens with every president is some really lazy concern trolling.

He's young and gay. I mean, why are you surprised? I don't think he's all that bad but I do get the apprehension and critique.

this issue is bigger than bernie, but the geographic concentration of dems, especially younger ones, doesn't favor adding progressive seats, and in places where he encourages independents to vote dem, it will likely come from purple counties where more moderate dems win...
Majority of America's don't vote though. Most of the time it doesn't come down to ideology but the money coming in the forces behind them. There were progressives during 2018 who probably would have won had the party put more behind them in the general. I suspect a Sanders lead party would not be all about you must be a progressive to win but if you do share those ideas there will be better support.

Oh I forgot here in Higher Learning if we disagree with someone's opinion we call it concern trolling.
IMO, the true measure of a backlash against him will be 2024, he's very likely to be a one term president. so will the party fall in line with who he gives his blessing to or will we have another moderate/progressive fight and how charged up will the republicans be, do they take the WH right back. this is what scares me about him and biden (and warren to an extent), spectrum aside, the dems badly need someone who at least on the surface level of age, can be a two termer
I can actually see Trump running in 2024 and winning the Presidency just running on an anti-socialism/pro-populist platform. I know it sounds crazy but we've seen crazy already.

Bernie looked really good. Crisp and concise answers on policy. Aggressive on Trump - didn’t pull any punches, called him a fraud and a liar

Hes going to raise my taxes :mjcry:

I expect there to be a huge drop-off in substance once Mayor Pete starts talking :francis:
