What AOC said was so stupid. She really did say the quiet part out loud. Grifters really got the only true progressive out of the paint for an ideologue half as competent. The whole don't start with a compromised position garbage is completely in the shytbin when your largest surrogate and the biggest fundraiser in the party gives the game away.

It's too late though the Bernie propaganda has taken hold and he'll likely get close to or win the nomination.

I do think campaigning on the next step is a mistake. Whatever you campaign on will be considered the most extreme position by the Republicans and the media. The reason the public option seems so reasonable now, is because the heavy push for single payer. Before Bernie started pushing M4A in 2015/2016 the public option was considered a far left radical position by the media. Now it is the moderate position because we were able to push the conversation left. If we campaign/ negotiate having the public option as a starting point we will end up with with a weak government healthcare option, or cooperatives instead.

Republicans do this all the time. They always start out with the most extreme position then negotiate down if they have to. Trump couldn’t do a Muslim ban. But, they were able to make ingratiating/traveling to the US harder without as much blowback as it should be getting, because he started off at the most extreme position.
i don't agree with this, a lot of voter want to know what you'll do. some get fired up by extremes, others want to see realism...

I get what you are saying. However, every candidate is going have to negotiate down. Obama ran on a moderate healthcare plan, and negotiated down.
