i don't think eliminating private insurance is the best/only way to provide cover the uninsured. i dont have faith in the government to run an efficient, effective health care system - absolutely no government agency is run effectively or makes things easy for you when you have to deal with it - there's no accountability for most public employees. i don't trust the government - i don't trust them to cover the things my current insurance covers (esp re: women's productive rights, fertility, family planning issues) nor do i like the idea that coverage could swing wildly as the different parties come into and out of power. lastly, i'll end up paying more...i'm cool on that

You make some powerful points. I always say free Heath Care or government paid for Heath Care is wonderful until you get sick..

I'm glad you're admitting you were lying when you claimed Warren's plan is a lie and middle-class taxes have to rise to pay for M4A.

Now that you're shifting goalposts to transition plan, it will be one hell of a fight to get Warren's plan passed, but seeing as Obama came 1 vote away from getting the public option into Obamacare and the mandate for radical action on healthcare has grown dramatically since then, Warren's first step of an M4A public option is a possibility. Manchin, who will be the deciding vote on any healthcare policy, has already said he supports a public option. Warren's plan is the most plausible one out there.

Warren getting Manchin to sign off on a public option is apparently a bigger stretch than Bernie getting Mitch to sign off on full M4A apparently

i can write you a plan right now to have the government forcibly take the money of everyone worth over a billion dollars, and give it to the rest of the country. it will happen by writing a law. because i have a plan for it, does that mean you should just believe i can make it happen?

Their end goals are the same. The difference is that Warren is being forthright with people and acknowledging the actual structural impediments to getting them passed, so she's crafting plans with those in mind. Bernie is handwaving away those impediments and saying a revolution will melt them away. I'm not even mad at Bernie for that, it's the superior political strategy. Warren is acting like she's already governing whereas Bernie is smartly acting like we're still in campaign season...because we are.
