I don't see how the Nationals come away with this as a winner in this trade. All it took was two Top 5 prospects to get this across the finish line? If the Mets were ever serious trade partners, they could have absolutely done this.

I dont think it would've *just* costed us (2) top 5 prospects. Washington would've taxed us.

Given what they got back, that's not a tax. They gave him away. They got a SS who doesn't play, a below average pitcher and a washed up Hosmer in addition to a couple of prospects. Rizzo checked out.

Now that Soto is done.

I want Willson Contreras, chafin and I want JD Martinez. We can platoon dh, fix the black hole at catcher and strengthen the pen

Couple of quick numbers since we are waiting for a deal. 60 games left in the season, and if we go 500, we still end up with 95 wins.

We also have more games against the reloaded nationals than Atlanta does.

Everywhere I'm reading it sounds like the Nats got hosed :scust:

If thats the case the Mets should've sent them Preston Wilson, Ed Yarnall, and Geoff Goetz for Soto :scust:
