they most likely view the turbo as something that can go wrong. Reliability is still a LExus hallmark
Yup. Look at the Audi S6’s and all them blown turbos. It’s an easy fix though. I mean look at semi trucks, they be having 600k miles lol. Yeah they might have turbos rebuilt and replaced here & there, I’m sure Toyota engineers could make them last 200k miles Easy w no issues.

you're comparing a turbo diesel engine on a semi to a v8 on a lexus?
why would toyota waste time and money on somethin that doesn't need to be done?
you do remember toyota making the supra turbo back in the 1990's right?
they've already done turbos and there's turbo supras with 200,000 miles on them.
you' guys really don't know shyt about this company

Them turbos on the S6 is like $6000 to fix. Lexus could build a proper turbo setup if they wanted, look at the 2JZ

It’s tried and true :manny: Better than nothing. I do wish they would turbo it. A GS F is fire, but since it’s not forced induction you can’t really mod it much to get more power. So 40-50k for a used car w that HP is kinda meh. You can get an RS7 for around the same price & have a rocketship :wow:

You can supercharger it. RR Racing sells superchargers

The RS7 will be expensive to maintain.

RR supercharger kits are expensive but its doable on this platform.

The supercharger kit runs $10k. What are you looking for as far as labor?

If you're building an 700-800hp car it's a project that might take a few years. About $15000 over 3 years ain't bad for an 800hp car in the grand scheme of things.:ehh:

That said you're right, it is expensive. AMG/BMW/Audi just needs a $2000 tune for a 200hp gain. My next car will probably be a used CLS550. With a tune I'll have 515hp and 740tq

thats because they ARE NOT NATURALLY ASPIRATED. They are already ridiculously priced because they have SUPERCHARGERS and TWIN TURBOS from the factory.

so yeah you can get a cheap 10 year old cls or something and tune it. then have it break down a couple years later.

Mercedes are reliable for the most part. I've done research on them and their engines are typically bullet proof outside of a couple things. Their V8s will 150k miles easy. BMW and Audi engines are terrible on the other hand.
