I have no clue what MLB is thinking with their playoff scheduling. The other leagues have figured out it’s better to have games overlapping in prime time than to play half the games when people are at work and can neither attend nor watch the games.

Since the schedule revealed that the Braves would be playing their home games at 1pm and 4pm respectively people have been desperately trying to unload their tickets.
getting the games in >>>> angling for all the games to be on prime time.

and it's really hard for people to complain about an early start when the bigger complaint is that games start too late.

Besides, there's only this overlap for a couple of days during the Division Series. More often it'll just be 2 games on, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

The NFL and NBA don’t have a problem with staggered starts. Give people 6pm / 9pm start slots if you don’t want the west coast game starting at 10 eastern. It’s not hard.

Baseball is a highly regional game. All those east coast fans you lost because you put their games on at 1 in the damn afternoon are not going to tune in to watch the Mariners at 8pm. You lost viewers for nothing.

Yeah, the Braves are never getting prime time games over the Yankees, Dodgers and Astros. They are 4th in that pecking order. Plus, they gotta play earlier when the Dodgers (and now, Padres) will be in the opposite series.

they don't have a choice. They're not scheduling day playoff games during the week. When the weekend hits they do the same shyt.

and BECAUSE baseball is regional, if the Yankees are playing alongside some other game for example, there isn't a chance in hell any TV in that region is changing the channel, not even out of curiosity, whereas if we can, we'll follow along if it's a standalone game.

It doesn’t have to be an either or situation. The NBA isn’t putting the 2nd round of the playoffs at 1pm on a Tuesday. When the NFL has multiple Monday or Thursday games they don’t put one of them at 1 pm. Yet for some reason this has to be the norm for baseball.

You literally are gaining nothing by putting those games on so early. Braves and Philly casual fans are not going to watch the Padres just because you put them on at 8. All you did was hurt the viewership of those early games.

Astros and Mariners fans are also pissed about this crap.
