2022 MLB Postseason Thread: this new bracket format will become a monster

I'll be honest, i didn't know the full details of this bracket style until last month, but this is gonna be big.

All four of the Wild Card series will be played from Fri-Sun on ESPN and ABC, and i think this is going to create crazy interest and drama moving forward.

Of course the divisional round (best of 5) and LCS/WS (best of 7) will all hopefully be great...but this Wild Card round could finally be finding its true sweet spot for the sport. I'm hyped to see it play out.

In 1993 San Fran won 103 games and didn’t go to the playoffs.

It will and they will have to expand to 14 in 2 or 3 years because of the popularity of it.

Nah. This is enough. Unless they add teams to the league, they’re not changing it. With this system the regular season matters more because.

1. Teams are playing for that first round bye
2. There are no more tie breaker games.

The odds of a great team being left out are slim to none. The Mets/Braves series this past weekend was basically a playoff series.

Its about time baseball expanded the amount of teams that could make the playoffs. I know thay added 1 more spot a while back so this is good
