They're peaking at the right time. I see us as this year's darkhorse team, we match up well against any team except Astros/Dodgers. And we wont play the rays at the trop aka hell for toronto. 90% sure we will be playing seattle at home in the wildcard best of three round(the home team will host all three games)

Positives: very good offense. We have a very good and balanced batting orderfrom 1-9.even the bottom of the lineup delivers(merrifield tapia Jansen Kirk)

Solid pitching (gausman, the young alex manoah and ross stripling the revelation of the year km the majors what a pleasant surprise)

great depth at the catcher position. Moreno, kirk and Jansen. All 3 are easily y quality starting catchers on other teams. I expect shatkins to deal one of them for a second baseman or a starting pitcher in the winter

Comeback team(jays lead the league with the most come from behind wins this year)

Great bullpen(jordan romano etc)

Negatives: this team is young still.immature and lacks experience/composure. Our 4th and 5th pitchers are struggling this season( kikuchi and berrios)

Question marks: John schneider who knows how.he will manage in the playoffs. Pitching rotations etc

Gausman got an issue with his finger but I pray its healed by then.

Berrios needs to play that jimmy key 92 role

fukk y'all. Straight up breh, I hate bluejay series in Seattle...it's like your entire country comes to Seattle and only packs clothes head to toe in that bright ass color. Like locusts in Seattle :scust:

Mariners in 2 :camby:
Dapped, repped, might undap later just so I can dap again.

Go M's, fukk them bum-ass Blue Jays.

Anyway, this is the perfect number for the playoffs. It's still hard to get in, but you're not leaving any 100-win clubs out of the playoffs and probably not any 95+-win clubs, either. It's the perfect balance.

yea this is the era of baseball I grew up on as a kid, its honestly crazy baseball was even more popular back then considering how many teams had their seasons over and done with so early given the playoff format
Too many entertainment options in 2022 compared to 1992. Cable television, Netflix, Social media, internet, tiktok xbox/ps3 etc didnt exist back then. And the nfl/nba werent as dominant and popular as today.

1985 Mets went 98 - 64 , with a 24 - 4 Doc, and went home :snoop:

Someone already mentioned the 93' Giants. Also, the 1999 Reds won 96, had to play the Mets in a 1 game playoff tie breaker and went home.

It took MLB years to finally figure this out.

It’s the purists

why are yall all bringing up teams that would've made the playoffs pretty much each of the past 25 seasons? :dahell:

It's cool until somebody makes the playoffs at like 79-83 and knocks out a 95 win ball club. Then yall will move the goalposts back to "the regular season is too long and doesn't matter" :gucci:
