Yes, maybe that is the case for the NHL.

The point is, a league can be healthy without setting the TV ratings on fire. There’s more than one way to skin a cat.

I haven’t seen any data to support that TV ratings directly correspond to franchise values, revenue, or overall relative popularity of the league.

Why watch the entire game when you can watch a 5 min highlight video on Twitter or YouTube immediately afterwards? I think unlike the NFL, a lot of NBA fans don't watch games much if they have other things to do. The NFL is an event and people plan their days around big games.

Also doesn’t Nielson or whatever it is only track a small percent of people? They don’t track every American household. That shyt never made sense..
