Completely underwhelming city

- Downtown is dead
- No real activities outside of "going to clubs"
- Walking around, it was not lively at all
- Has a suburb feel to it
- Talked to Houston Natives and newcomers who been there for at least 5 years. When asked how they like Houston, it was a range of "Ehhh I been here all my life, I know nothing else" to "Well, it has a good job market. Nothing special about it"

I think Houston attracts people because of their job market. But outside of that, it was :yeshrug:
Yeah Texas is known for spread out cities

That’s a feature of the south

The cities of Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Fort Worth have more of an engaging ambiance than Houston

Houston however is one of the GOAT cities for women:ohlawd:

I'm from Portsmouth and it's just how people act like it's Vegas or something I used to hear people say yeah we going to the beach this weekend and I'm like bruh it's Virginia Beach we literally a tunnel away chill but overall I ain't got nothing against VB it's cool I actually work out there.
Virginia Beach is easily, easily, easily greater than Vegas to me...

Vegas is too hot, dirtier, too brown (there's almost no natural grass and trees there in comparison)...

Vegas has almost nothing interesting away from The Strip and downtown. Way too many homeless, many of whom are black. The Vegas experience of casino lifestyle and nightlife is not a big deal to me, I don't need to live somewhere with slot machines in gas stations, or gambling spots in every shopping strip. To each their in but it does nothing for me. LV does have a popping nightlife but that's because it's the only major city within hours, Salt Lake is better and LA is so much of a better experience, Vegas is just somewhere people who can't make it in LA flock too...

I have multiple nightlife districts in VB, better weather, water, vegetation, less homeless, cheaper, and it's just a better looking city visually. Better looking women on aggregate. Yeah it's much smaller than Vegas but unless you absolutely need 24/7 nightlife who cares?

Those cities had no damn tax revenue to begin with. It's why the cities are improving over what they were in the 90's. The dead weight is leaving.

That's pretty factual. Lower incomes are moving to the suburbs.

This is pretty much true for most cities in the sunbelt. Suburban in nature, meh downtown, not very lively or only has a couple lively spots. It’s why I am in no hurry to go back South right now. Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas are three peas in a pod on this one.

This is the hallmark of building your city around the car instead of around people. These cities are wanting to change that but the auto and suburban industry is making it hard.

I agree. But at the same time Dallas when I visited seemed more lively. And not sure if Nashville is part of the Sunbelt, but that city was lively as fukk

Anyone saying Atlanta probably didn't come here with a guide. This is a town where you NEED to have someone who knows the city thoroughly to experience it's full potential. Or else it's like you nikkas who go to Vegas and only stay on Fremont or the strip.

Man I'm not gonna believe that 😂 El Paso is fukking garbage...

I will say what I've seen so far, Fort Worth and Dallas deserve a mention near GOAT tier black women. They fukking bad out here, to the gotdamn bone. So for me it's Houston, Charlotte, LA, DC, and DFW!

Nashville is definitely a super live, active city too!

I lived in Flowery Branch for a year and I frequented the city often. Had a homegrown back then, coincidentally from Vegas, who lived in a condo on the Northside (Atlanta City, not Gwinnett) I used to kick it with, I got around town. Just not my cup of tea...

I have property in Nashville.
Nashville is lit.

One of the few southern cities I'd live in.
It has identity.
It has culture.

Robust culinary scene.
Robust art scene.
Robust nightlife.

Has one of the top academic institutions in the south.

Has about four HBCUs.

Tons of activities if you're into the outdoors.
Lots of good looking people.

Only downside is real estate. Can get pricey.
