Their Hip Hop 50 tribute catered waaaay too much to 2000-2009. I get there's only so much you can do and they probably couldn't get a lot of the 90's legends to show, but still. And even then, there was a lot missing because so much of 2000-2009 was 50, Kanye, and Wayne. I don't like Kanye, but he was really impactful during that era. They could've at least brought out Common or even Twista. Snoop Dogg was missed too.

Crunk era was skimmed through or entirely skipped over to cover the snap era. I get Crime Mob performed pre- show but these were missed:










For all that Outkast pandering, and they couldn't get Big Boi to show up to do "The Way You Move" or this one:

If you don't see the dropoff in skill and overall presentation or if you're not actually outside with the yungins, I don't know what to tell you.

It's bad out here from every metric and this awards show was yet another reflection of it. This ain't "Black Excellen ce" and is more "Black Mediocrity."

The lack of starpower and elders was glaring.

Social commentary really is absent in the songs nowadays.

Ice Spice gets 3 songs but they only wanted to give Busta 2 minutes for his lifetime achievement speech
