Can you just imagine a world where Edey is like a Brook Lopez type spacer, and he just chose to not show that on the college level? I can't think of too many times where a 3PA would've been a better option for him than putting someone under the rim, but dude may have averaged like 30 PPG if they utilized his stroke

The more I look at this draft the more I like these players. They’re just raw but the potential is there.

Will dawkins the wizards GM said this is a good draft. The payoff will be down the line. Don't be short sighted

Also 2 inches taller, and 20lbs heavier than Clingan with a 4 inch longer wingspan. Also beat Clingan in the shuttle, sprint, and vert drills

I have to think Kessler's success + it being such an unproven draft is why Clingan is being mocked so highly. Otherwise, I can't understand why dude is being mocked so highly (i.e. top 5)

That wingspan and his defensive instincts will definitely get him drafted. If he gets to pick 38 watch out for Thibs on this one

Kid from a mental/skills perspective isn't anywhere close to there, but his mock has basically peaked at Jrue Holiday even when he was getting gassed in HS, and it's not like that ceiling has really changed :manny: I think it's dumb he doesn't try to get at least one year of development at a high level mid major, but he's also going to be afforded more time to develop in the NBA than the average "not really that good in college" type player. And hands-on NBA development, even for a bench dude, is much much better than 99% of CBB programs

Edey's shooting form looks fluid

Bruh I'm not gonna lie. I want the wizards to end up with him somehow whatever range he's meant to be. I feel OKC another team that could also say fukk it. IT has to be a team with a GM who isn't scared of what the consensus is. And once the pick is made they gonna be so :smugfavre: about it

I been studying how he plays in the drop on defense and how he is on offense. Hes gonna put people in foul trouble, I can see Impossible to get around seasls/ gortat screens for drivers to get to the basket. ANd now he's funnily showing some shooting.

Defensively you get him around the basket and you are NOT scoring. The way I've seen people pick him out defensively is on pick and rolls, the roller trying to get to the rim behind him for a dunk depending on at what level you start the pick and roll and where he picks it up. I've also seen when he picks up the pick and roll ball handler he back pedals a bit giving space for the middy around the free throw line. Another way is just lateral passes to the shooter whos the screener who pops. You can spam that all day. I'd probably play him more up when picking up the ball handler, have the guy navigating the screen with the ball handler switch to the pop big and have a low man who can contest a quick pass to the rolling big behind Edey.

Offensive footage is at the start. Defensive at the end. This includes makes and misses

Edey is about 70+% from the free throw line at 11 FTA/game.

It's not really a stretch to say he can be a spacer on offense. The jump shot actually looks great and consistent, nice arc, etc.

It's not his fault the offensive game plan doesn't want a center to be on the perimeter. They got to the Finals with that plan.

I know a lot of people say don't buy into the shoot around, but I've seen a lot worse shoot arounds from bad shooters with glaring flaws about their form. Like I've never seen Shaq hit five in a row from three during a shoot around, Ben Simmons jump shot looks ugly and erratic, etc. I've seen a lot of players get lucky during shoot arounds but still never bought them being good shooters. See it all the time at gyms as well.

The guy though honestly does not look like a bad shooter. In fact, I can 100% see him being a good shooter and not surprise me. Very consistent, balanced, relaxed, effortless and fluid release. Additionally, knows it's going in - that's how you can tell that he's very comfortable shooting from the perimeter.

Even dude's misses have the shooter's touch and are not outright violent bricks. The right scheme will get him open and the GM will look like a genius. If I were scouting I'd add floor spacer to the traits to be safe.

shyt, they got to the Championship game playing him near the basket. I'm guessing it's part of the coaching design.

Definitely could have had it in the bag this whole time but the coach wants their system.
