For all the criticism Nate Silver gets on here, is he really that washed? he was invincible when he first stepped on to the scene.

I remember he was the golden boy in 2008 (or was it 2012?), he got every state right in the EC and was the only mainstream voice who nailed it.

I've always thought his insight was generally tight and accurate, except for maybe one "off year". I know he fumbled 2016 but so did most pundits.

objectively speaking how accurate has he been the last 8 years? Whether or not we like his politics, or he has money pumping in from partisan players, I am trying to understand his track record and how often he's been right/ wrong since the 2016 debacle.

I will say that I took a vacation for this week from this thread, just because NCAA and NFL are back. Now for a legit, non-shytpost... I find people saying that Kamala should be doing media, podcasts, etc. foolish. Kamala has been doing something even more important, boots on the ground. Some folks cannot afford internet, nor are they on social media or listen to podcasts.

A majority of Democrats will vote for Kamala, because this election isn't about policies but rather Governance itself because the Republicans can't evict Trump from their party.

Anyone who is looking for a battle of policy, especially after seeing a Trump presidency and/or keeping track of the last decade, knows what Trump is going to pull bullshyt wise and the gig is up.

I wouldn't say he is washed, but rather... his model and algorithms no longer can gauge correctly. Between 2008 and 2024, Social Media has exploded even more... Less People are Watching Cable... Less People get their News from CNN, MSNBC and Fox News, Etc.

So many factors pollute those calculations, and I think he is too prideful to admit his system can't fix those flaws.
